Focus on the Present

March 27th, 2008

What does it mean to focus on the present? Concentrate on the now? It really means to live in the only place that life happens, right here, right now. I have been practicing being present. Breathing to bring myself back to the now when I notice myself drifting off to thoughts of the past or the future. Life seems to flow better when I am living in the present. Breath for a bit. See what happens.

Being Sick

February 24th, 2008

Man oh man!  Being sick with the flu is just not fun!  It puts a stop or major slow down to so many things.  But, it really makes me stop and slow down too!  Did you get that?  It requires a big huge, whooooaaaaa!  And a required attention to only the basics.  That is one way to start noticing what is most important.  It is also a way to loose some weight too.  I lost 5-6 pounds in a couple weeks!  Now, as I am getting better, the trick for me will be to BE this new person who is 5 pounds lighter and not revert to the one who was heavier.  And also to BE the person who notices what is most important in any given moment.  So, on to better health and focused attention.

Who gets to desire WHEN something happens after you decide WHAT you want?

I hope you didn’t say you.

And of course the HOW–just forget it!

Desire

Creating your true desire begins with noticing and then crafting the

Notice…craft vision…notice…craft vision… You get the idea…

Check out this article in the Scientific American:

The Secret to Raising Smart Kids

Hint: Don’t tell your kids that they are. More than three decades of research shows that a focus on effort—not on intelligence or ability—is key to success in school and in life.

Have you heard about the new mac laptop, MacBook Air?  I just saw it today online and WOW!  What a neat toy!  I have had so much fun with my new iPhone, a Christmas surprise, and wouldn’t this be a great addition to my office this year?  Let’s put the Law of Attraction to good use here!

What makes you feel good?

January 19th, 2008

When you are noticing your body this week, notice what makes you feel good.  Notice the kind of touch, the temperature, the texture, the clothes, the voice, the music, the food, etc.  What makes you feel good?

If something doesn’t feel good, stop doing it, step away, do something else.  Don’t dwell on it, just move on to the next thing. Spend time finding the things that do feel good, instead of spending time on those that don’t.

Personal Power

January 18th, 2008

How much do you notice yourself blaming others or any outside forces for your own feelings, events, or situations? Living in your own power means that you take 100% responsibility for everything in your life. If you notice it and/or it is happening to you, then you had a hand in creating it. The good news is that this is good news! If you are 100% responsible, then you don’t have to rely on someone else to fix it. You can start fixing it right away. The trick is that you have to realize that a problem can not be fixed with the same mind set that created it in the first place.

The Success Principles

Push push push

January 17th, 2008

How long after a big project that you have been working on do you notice how your body feels? Today I worked on a project for about 12 hours. When I completed the task and relaxed a bit I realized how my shoulders were up around my ears, my lower back was sore, and I was truly tired. So, why am I writing this instead of going to sleep? Well, this is more fun right now. Oh, and it takes a bit to wind down.

Here is a glimpse of what I am reading too.  See next post.
